The massive growth of cycling in London

I have found this interesting plot in a recent article by Laura Laker on Bloomberg:

Figure 1 shows that since the 2000s, the number of trips per day by bike in London has multiplied by 4. From about 300,000 trips in 2000, there are now between 1.1 and 1.3 million trips per day by bike, depending on the year.

Over the same period, trips per day by private car slowly eroded from 10.9 million trips to 9.2 million trips.

Of course, this is only one dataset covering one city. However, this data is a good illustration of how urban transport modes are currently changing.
